Cost and limits
Simple Host is free to use. These are today's real numbers for this server, generated from its own settings, not typed by hand.
What it costs
Using simple-host.app, including every account, site, AI-app connection, and feature on this page, costs nothing.
Connecting an AI app
Simple Host connects to an AI app over MCP or a plugin at no extra cost from Simple Host. ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok all support this on their free plans; anything your AI app itself charges for (messages, other tools) is between you and that app. See Get started to connect one.
Sites
- Per account
- An account may hold up to 100 sites, including ones in Recently deleted.
- Per upload
- Up to 100 MB per upload, with up to 50,000 entries (files) in one deploy.
- Website storage
- A new site may use up to 200 MB including its live files and kept versions; an account up to 1 GB. Earlier sites are grandfathered with no cap. Backend data and storage resources below have their own limits.
- Versions kept
- The last 4 versions of a site are kept; an owner this server lets change it may ask for fewer or more.
- Deleted sites
- Recently deleted keeps it for 7 days, with every version and all its saved data, before it is gone for good.
Saved data
A page saves into storage resources the owner creates: KV, SQLite, or files.
- KV and SQLite
- 10,000,000 bytes per site, together.
- Files
- 10,000,000 bytes per site, 1,000,000 bytes per file.
- Photos
- 1,000,000 bytes per photo added through the chat photo picker.
- Page info
- A Page info document is at most 1 MB, and a site declares at most 20 Page info names.
- Submissions
- Each new entry is at most 16 KB, a name holds at most 10,000 live entries, and a site declares at most 50 Submissions names.
- Personal
- A personal record is at most 64 KB, the name holds records for at most 1,000 people, and a site declares at most 20 Personal names.
- Shared board
- A board item is at most 16 KB, a board holds at most 2,000 live items, and a site declares at most 20 Shared board names.
Visitor sign-ins
Visitor sign-ins are free, by emailed code or Google. A visitor's sign-in lasts up to 30 days and covers that one site. A site may instead be opened only to named viewers, up to 50 per site.
Custom domains
Connecting your own domain, or claiming a free <name>.simple-host.app address, costs nothing. An account may request at most 5 new domain certificates a day.
Notifications
A site may notify its owner of new entries by webhook, up to 10 subscriptions per site.
Rate limits
API calls, sign-ins, and uploads are limited per address so one caller cannot crowd out everyone else; a limited response carries Retry-After. See the API reference for the exact numbers.
